7th LGBT Film Festival

7th LGBT Film Festival 2016
May 23-28, 2016

Kino Pod Baranami invites to the Krakow edition of the 7th LGBT Film Festival - Poland's largest cinema fest of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and trans - which will take place between the 23rd and the 28th of May. The programme consists of five feature films, including the winner of the Teddy Award in Berlin - Tomcat, the famous documentary Oriented and a selection of 12 Israeli short films.

LGBT Film Festival presents the latest and best-received titles at international film festivals. The programme embraces thematically and formally various productions - with a special focus on Israeli cinema - which were subjects of heated debate around the world.

Among the highlights of the Festival include the Austrian drama Tomcat, which triumphed at this year's Berlinale, where it was granted the Teddy Award (an international prize for films with LGBT topics, established in 1987); the remarkable Israeli-British documentary Oriented, presented at the Los Angeles Film Festival 2015, which tells the story of three Palestinian friends discovering their national and sexual identity in Tel Aviv during the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in 2014; or the Turkish movie Are We OK? by Çağan Irmak, an award-winning film and television director. The programme is enriched by a selection of 12 short films from Israel, presenting the situation of sexual minorities in this country from diverse perspectives.

All films will be screened in original version with both Polish and English subtitles.
