POLISH FILMS IN ENGLISH is Kino Pod Baranami's cycle of screenings specially for English speaking viewers.

Once a week, on Tuesday, we will screen Polish film with English subtitles 
- something which you will not encounter anywhere else!

One of the most popular comedies from post-war Poland. The odyssey of a man through Poland from 1939 to 1950, in a changing world that seems to have no place for him. From his childhood to his first love, from his unwilling involvement in Fascist politics to his arrest and imprisonment in a prison camp.

EROICA

Black comedy by the legendary A. Munk is a bitter yet timeless commentary on the notions of heroism and war set in World War II. In the first novel, a small-time black marketeer, trying to preserve his skin, ultimately becomes a hero and finds a reason for fighting. The second novel details a hopeless attempt to escape from a prison camp.

The story of a small rabbit, Esterhazy and his search for Bunnies's Paradise that truly existed between East and West part of the Berlin Wall.

The setting is an old age home run by an aging director with an authoritarian hand. In the evening many of the residents huddle in a living room, penetrated by the October cold, to listen to the news. The announcement is giving the number of expected deaths due too the coming harsh winter. First music score of acclaimed Polish film composer, Zbigniew Preisner.
