| The newest Disney Pixar animated feature film is the sequel to Finding Nemo.
Finding Dory is a beautiful celebration of family, friendship as well as cognitive and physical differences.
Dory is a wide-eyed, blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss every 10 seconds or so. The one thing she can remember is that she somehow became separated from her parents as a child. With help from her friends Nemo and Marlin, Dory embarks on an epic adventure to find them. Her journey brings her to the Marine Life Institute, a conservatory that houses diverse ocean species. Dory now knows that her family reunion will only happen if she can save mom and dad from captivity.
Finding Dory reunites the friendly-but-forgetful blue tang fish with her loved ones, and everyone learns a few things about the true meaning of family along the way. The all-new big-screen adventure takes moviegoers back to the extraordinary underwater world from the original Finding Nemo film.
Family is a key theme in Finding Dory. We learn when we first meet Dory that she can’t remember where she’s from, says director Andrew Stanton. But she must have a family. Her confusion got a laugh when she said in the first film, ‘Where are they?’- but there’s a sad truth to that. I knew there was a story worth telling.
Finding Dory is full of celebrity voice work, including from a number of television performers. The movie is voiced by Ellen DeGeneres as Dory, Albert Brooks as Marlin, Ed O'Neill as Hank, Diane Keaton as Jenny, Idris Elba as Fluke, Kaitlin Olson as Destiny, Hayden Rolence as Nemo, Willem Dafoe as Gill and Sigourney Weaver as Sigourney Weaver. The original voice of Nemo (Alexander Gould) makes a surprise cameo in Finding Dory as well.
